THE RUIN
"You're right about one thing," I whispered, my lips inches away from his. "I do want to win." I pushed against his chest, surprising him enough to throw him little off balance. "But you're not the prize I'm after." For a second, I thought I had him, I turn to leave but he caught my hand and his grip tightened as he pulled me back against him, his eyes blazing with a challenge. "You think you can walk away that easily?" His voice was rough, raw with need. "I don't just walk away," I replied, stepping back with a smirk of my own. "I take what I want, and then I leave." His gaze darkened, the heat between us palpable. "We'll see about that."
